October 11, 2008, we had to make a heartbreaking decision. Our precious toy poodle, Fifi Cherie, as you all know had been suffering from degenerative disc disease for the past four and half months. She went through surgery, medication, stomach issues, and shots, but was unable to get relief from her pain. She was unable to stand or walk, and she did not want to be touched or held. It hurt too much. We knew by keeping her with us, it was for us and not for her. We decided to let her go. The decision was made by my husband, me and Fifi’s Vet. We had to do what was best for her.
We loved her so much. She was so much a part of our lives. Our lives were centered around this little dog. If we went on vacation, we looked for a place that would allow dogs. We rushed home from church, ball games, and dinner parties to get back to care for her. We made special trips to the store for her needs. She went to the groomer once a month, and was taken to the Vet regularly. At Christmas, Fifi had her own Christmas list of people to appreciate; the groomer, the Vet, the dog sitter, and the pet resort. She was always on our minds, just like a baby would be. We loved her. We will miss her. Her spirit will live within us forever in our hearts. We miss you and love you – Fifi Cherie.’
